Red Dead Redemption 2 PC is out, Gamers are facing crashes.
Rockstar Games patched the game to mitigate some of these issues, although the issues persist for many players.
Step 1: Update the GPU drivers
Rockstar recommends PC gamers update their graphics drivers with the latest available from AMD and Nvidia. The optimized Radeon Software driver version 19.11.1 is available here . Nvidia’s Game Ready driver for Red Dead Redemption 2 is available here .
Both linked drivers contain optimizations and bug fixes for Red Dead Redemption 2, specifically with performance and stability improvements.
Step 2 – Antivirus software
One step to prevent the game from blocking is deactivating the antivirus that we have installed. This recommendation is classic for many games, since antivirus programs usually act in the background and cause crashes with relatively recent software.
Step 3 – Install the latest (May 2019) Windows Update
- Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
- Select Check for Updates

- Enter the Rockstar Launcher
- Enter settings
- Select “Account Information”.
- Select “Delete local profile”.
- Confirm the action
- Log into the Rockstar Launcher
- Run Red Dead Redemption 2
Note\: This will remove all profile details from your local machine and require you to sign in to the Rockstar Games Launcher again. It will not delete your Social Club account or any saved games. Signing in to Social Club will recreate your local profile.
